Franklin Facelift: Remodeling and Reinventing a Second Story

Neighborhood: Franklin, Williamson County, Nashville, Tennessee

Project Summary:

What The Client Wanted: Our client wanted to transform their cramped upper floor into a family-friendly, open-concept space.

What We Did: We redesigned the home’s layout in partnership with Mckeithan Design Studio to create a seamless great room that integrates the dining, kitchen, and living areas. The kitchen now boasts an expansive island with a distinctive light fixture by Luke Lamp, marble countertops and backsplash, and walnut cabinetry that conceals appliances for a sophisticated look. It also features a barn sink with brass fixtures and folding brass covers to hide electrical outlets. A standout element of the remodel is the custom iron staircase, which serves as a centerpiece of the room and connects to the previously disconnected attic.
